What is a zine?A zine, shortened from magazine, is an unofficial and amateur publication. This zine is intended to celebrate the fandom around the polyamorous ship between Luo Binghe/Liu Qingge/Shen Qingqiu | Shen Yuan from the Mòxiāng Tóngxiù's work Scum Villain’s Self-Saving System (now sold in English by Seven Seas Publishing).Will the zine have a physical print?This zine will only be released digitally; the mods are fresh to making zines so we want to keep it simple and create a low-stakes fanzine.Will this project be for-profit?No money will be involved at all. There's no physical print so the mods will do the rest of the required work compiling the pieces.What are the specifications for this zine?The zine will be released in a PDF format. You can feel free to print it for private use, but otherwise the zine will remain digital. The rating will be 18+ as the source material is: that includes canon-typical violence and sex, with potential common dead dove content.Does the zine have a theme?The zine has no theme. As we know of no previous zine for the ship, we want to make it as open as possible. The mods will look at grouping the different works together by similar genre, themes, and tropes (angst will be grouped together, modern AUs will be grouped together, et cetera).Will the zine be 18+?Yes; the original work and some of its themes are 18+, so the zine will be. You are allowed to submit works that are not 18+, but no contributors younger than 18 will be admitted to the zine.What are the contributor expectations?- Artists: 1-3 full pieces- Artists accompanying a fic: 1-2 full pieces or 1-6 smaller pieces (see Guide for more details about the difference between full and small pieces)- Comic artists: 1-4 pages- Writers: 500-4k word fic- Cosplayers: 1-4 photos in a set- Other contributions will be defined in conversations with the mods and contributors.For the full rules for contributors see the Guide tab.Can I apply for more than one position?Yes, you can choose to add several things you wish to contribute with in your application, but it will have to be discussed with the mods so we know you’ll not be overworking yourself.How many contributors will you be accepting?At this moment we hope to include as many contributors as we can! We want to make this a fun community project so feel free to apply as long as you’re 18+ and okay with the terms of this event.Are there any content restrictions/will darker content be allowed?As we are an 18+ zine, we hope to be a space for a range of fiction creators want to make, but due to mods’ own personal squicks and thus inability to look over works with this content, we ask that: graphic torture, extreme underage (younger than when we meet Luo Binghe), scat, bestiality, necrophilia, and het genderbend ideas not be submitted to this zine. These limitations are not meant to be a moral judgment, and we thank you for respecting the mods’ squicks as we will do our best to respect our contributors’ by providing content warning for each piece in the zine’s table of contents.Are background ships allowed in this zine?All and any background ships are allowed, as long as your focus is on the main ship of Luo Binghe/Liu Qingge/Shen Qingqiu | Shen Yuan. Qijiu? Go ahead! Tianlang-jun & Zhuzhi-lang? Whatever floats your boat (pun intended). Cumplane as exes? Have fun. Just remember to tag appropriately and keep your focus on the main ship.Are crossovers allowed?Yes, we do allow crossovers, especially with other danmei works.The zine is welcoming to trans content.Will the zines pair contributors with betas?At this point we do not; the mods will read over works for grammar/spelling mistakes before publishing, but we encourage you to find your own beta or ask if anyone would want to beta for you in the beta channel in the server.Who are the mods?Zack (enbycupcake on all platforms) & Isa (frostgremlin on ao3)Have more questions? Writers
Approximately 500-4K words

No previously published works, but it’s allowed to submit a wip as one of your concepts
All major warnings must be tagged including major character death, non-con/dub-con, underage, and other common dead dove topics
Tagging kinks/tropes like one does on AO3 is appreciated to help us craft the table of contents/content list so people can find what they enjoy and avoid what they don't
Artists
1 - 3 pieces. Only 1 piece is required, but if you either are a fast illustrator or merely feel very inspired, you may make up to 3 for the zine
The pieces have to be original for the zine. (No previously posted artwork, but unposted WIPs are fine)
Piece(s) must be full, completed drawings and can be in color or greyscale. If your style is colorless, that is fine so long as it is completed line art
Don't draw backgrounds? You don't need them
Artists Working with a Fic Writer
1 - 2 full pieces OR 1 - 6 smaller pieces meant to be placed inside the text: think small illustrations placed inside books such as these

Comic Artists
1 - 4 pages of comic. Number of panels does not matter.
The pieces have to be original for the zine. (No previously posted artwork, but unposted WIPs are fine)
Comics must have finished line art, and the comic can be in both color or black and white
Don't draw backgrounds? You don't need them
Cosplayers
1 - 4 photos. Can be in color or black and white.
As this is an 18+ zine, cosplay photos can be NSFW if you so choose.
Only one copy of a shoot needs to be submitted per group of cosplayers.
